Using Improvisation in Table-work Rehearsals

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This workshop showcases a new kind of table-work, inspired by Katie Mitchell and Fiasco Theater Company and distilled into a modality that encourages an improvisational, experiential process. This effervescent, improvisational staging of a scene still new to actors requires actors to activate their work by using items in the room, moving in unpredictable ways, and incorporating their own personal experiences into the characters’ decisions. This process is rooted in a deep investigation of the given circumstances of the text. Within this simultaneous physical and mental exploration, actors make organic and lasting connections to their characters and to the play.
