Applied Storytelling: Using Improvisational Story Activities for Individual and Group Development

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Story is both the most ancient of communication and learning methods and one of the hottest
new tools in today’s organizations. But many modern-day humans think of storytelling as some unique talent that only special chosen people have.
We will explore the ways we can use improvisational story techniques with individuals and groups to:

• Expand self-awareness
• Build empathy and deepen relationships
• Solve problems
• Articulate and achieve vision
• Create inclusive environments

The main feature of the session will be a Story Circle in which participants uncover a topic of common interest and then, through a gently facilitated process, discover and share real-life stories, harvest themes and insights, leading potentially to new thoughts on solutions or actions they would like to take.
