GII Symposium 2019 has ended
Wednesday, May 15 • 12:00pm - 1:00pm
When you are privileged, equality can feel like oppression

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Who gets through the door to do the great impro gig? Who doesn’t? Why is that? What happens when the door is opened? How does privilege play out in the improvisation world? Who has privilege? Who doesn’t? What is the impact of this? How can we be better allies? What does that even mean?
Facilitated by Angela Clerkin (Actor, Improvisor, Theatre Maker, AD ClerkinWorks, Improbable Associate Artist). Last year Angela set up Through The Door improvisation workshops for women and non-binary people. TTD is supported by Improbable and Shakespeare’s Globe and is part of the III. She will be joined by TTD facilitators Pauline Mayers (Associate Artist Chris Goode & Co, Leeds Playhouse, Improbable Board Member), Stella Duffy (novelist, improvisor, theatre maker, co-director Fun Palaces, Improbable Associate Artist), Sarah Grange (TTD producer, open space & research associate at Improbable), and workshops participants Serin Ibrahim (Actor, AD Culture Clash) and Cassandra Hercules (Actor, Co-Founder Culture Clash). Please join us in what promises to be a lively, informative and timely discussion about the importance of diversifying improvisation.
